Lacrosse community called on the help name new Women's Box Lacrosse Championship Trophy

Lacrosse Australia is giving the Australian lacrosse public the opportunity to help decide whose name will be etched into history as the namesake of the latest addition of the Lacrosse Australia Trophy cabinet, the LA Women's Box Lacrosse National Championship Trophy.

Women’s Box lacrosse is one of the fastest growing and most exciting disciplines in world lacrosse. In 2023, the first Australian Women's Box Lacrosse National Championship took place, with Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland doing battle for the right to be named the inaugural National Champions, with Victoria prevailing.

In 2024, the best in Women’s Box lacrosse will again converge on the Altona Lacrosse Club from 21 – 25 February 2024, with the added incentive of a spot in the first Australian Women’s Box Lacrosse team all but ensuring an incredible event.

With that Lacrosse Australia has secured a new National Championship trophy and is calling on the Australian lacrosse community to make submissions for whom the trophy ought to be named after, representing a unique opportunity to honour Australia’s rich lacrosse history by creating a beacon for future lacrosse players to chase in the decades to come.

Submissions close on 14 January 2024 with the new name to be announced in February 2024 before the 2024 LA Men’s & Women's Box Lacrosse National Championship Trophy
