Lacrosse in Australia Participation and Engagement Strategy Project

Project Overview

Lacrosse Australia (LA), with the support from Sport Australia, has engaged McLaughlin Sports Consultancy (MSC) to work with the LA and its partners to:

  • Undertake a comprehensive insights / research focused review of the LA Participant Framework, all participation related products and programs being delivered across Australia and all data relating to participation, membership and workforce nationally; and

  • Based on the analysis of data driven insights collected in stage a (above), develop a detailed, yet user-friendly 2022-2024 Lacrosse in Australia Participation and Engagement Strategy designed to grow the sport.

A Project Reference Group (PRG) was established at the commencement of the project to provide information and contextual insight to MSC throughout the project’s lifecycle. PRG members are as per the following:

  • Tim Anderson  Driver of Junior participation in NSWL

  • Steve Campbell LA Sports Development & Operations Coordinator

  • Giulia Marion LSA Executive Officer

  • Glenn Morley LA Chair

  • Damien Orr LA Growth Coordinator

  • Mark Polden LA Director

Why?

LA does not currently have an evidence-based approach to which to allow all lacrosse stakeholders to clearly understand how, together, the Australian Lacrosse community can and will achieve its participation objectives.

Currently LA, its member associations (MAs) and clubs, are working proactively in and around several key participation project areas, some of which are connected, whilst others are not. This is another key reason why LA will benefit from taking a planned and evidence-based approach to the development, delivery and review of all current and future participation related activities, to ensure the efficient and effective achievement of its membership and participation objectives.

Stakeholder Involvement

Throughout the project we will be seeking the involvement, input and feedback from the lacrosse stakeholders; members, clubs and Member Associations. This will occur during the engagement phase of the project which will include:

  • Club e-survey

  • State MO e-survey

  • Stakeholder interviews

  • Focus session webinar

  • Stakeholder face to face meeting

Stay Tuned

LA will be providing updates regarding the project over the next 6 months and when we reach the above outlined deliverables. Keep across our website and social media channels for further details.
