LA AGM Wrap Up

Lacrosse Australia held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 26/04/2022 with attendance from four out of five Member Associations. LA’s 2021 Annual Report and Financial Report were presented to Member Associations by Chair, Glenn Morley and Vice Chair Caroline McLuckie respectively.

In the the lead up to the AGM, LA called for nominations for three Elected Director Positions. At the AGM the result of the election was confirmed. We are thrilled to announce the following Elected Directors who will join the LA Board for a 2 year term:

  • Abbie Burgess

  • Adrian Burns,

  • Tania Orr

Tania Orr joins the LA Board

Adrian and Abbie were current serving Directors, who were required to re-nominate, and will continue their tenure on the LA Board. Tania Orr is a new and welcomed inclusion to the LA Board

Tania’s professional career includes over 20 years working in social infrastructure including all modes of transport, major projects, property and precinct development for both the Victorian and NSW governments as well as recently being appointed to lead Transport Planning and Operations for the Brisbane City Council leading into the Olympics in 2032. A life member of the Newport Ladies lacrosse club Tania comes from rich lacrosse heritage. Both parents Val and Michael represented Australia (Val as captain in 1978). Tania has played over 400 games for Newport and represented Victoria at junior and senior levels. She has coached and managed teams across all levels of the women’s game and held numerous administrative positions for both Newport and Victoria.

LA farewells Glenn Morley

Finally, LA would like to take this time to thank and farewell Glenn Morley. Glenn has been a long-time servant to our great game. Joining the LA Board in 2012, Glenn managed the Coaching portfolio from 2012 - 2020, the Growth Portfolio from 2020-2021 and was President from 2019-2021. Over his time Glenn has overseen the development and delivery of Coaching courses and conferences, the development and implementation of the Lacrosse Australia’s Strategic plan, growth , recruitment of LA’s workforce, building of relationships with Governing Bodies and Member Associations, strengthening of LA’s governance structures, protocols and reporting, and most recently, and most significantly, Glenn provided strong leadership and support to many LA and lacrosse stakeholders over the last two years to successfully navigate through the pandemic. Glenn’s impact on the game will leave a lasting legacy and will provide Lacrosse Australia with the best platform to grow and develop lacrosse in Australia. Lacrosse Australia wishes Glenn all the best and thanks him for his tireless service.
