World Lacrosse Announces Initial Phase of Appointments to Three New Commissions

The Australian Lacrosse Association (ALA) welcomes the announcement from World Lacrosse (WL) regarding the initial appointments to three new commissions and would like to acknowledge and congratulate Andrew Harris and Fiona Clark on their appointments to the WL Ethics Commission and the WL Diversity and Opportunity Commission respectively.

Andrew, who has served on the ALA and Lacrosse South Australia boards previously, will be the interim Chair of the WL Ethics Commission.

Upon his appointment, Andrew said “I am excited to have been appointed to the inaugural World Lacrosse Ethics Commission in the capacity of interim Chair and look forward to working with my fellow appointees in safeguarding the ethical principles of World Lacrosse. The commission’s mission is to uphold the commitment of World Lacrosse to integrity, good governance and transparency, whilst serving the World Lacrosse membership, to help achieve better application of ethical principles and rules across all levels.” 

Andrew has always provided lacrosse in Australia strong insight to policy development, strategic decision making and implementing good governance practices, while, possessing impeccable communication skills, professionalism, integrity and honesty.  Andrew’s appointment will provide invaluable insight, and is a wonderful asset to the Ethics Commission, World Lacrosse and the game globally.

Fiona Clark, who as also served on the ALA Board, is the current Competitions Director for World Lacrosse and is an WL Board Appointee to the WL Diversity and Opportunity Commission. The WL Diversity and Opportunity Commission members will form part of a global Commission for World Lacrosse participating in strategic and policy development and, as appropriate, take the lead for specific projects and communications with an aim of positioning World Lacrosse as a champion for inclusion and diversity across all its activities.
