Participation Framework

The Australian Lacrosse Association is proud to present the ALA Participation Framework

Thhis framework provides an overview of: how someone can participate in lacrosse, what development stages players reach during their playing career, the programs and pathways leading to the elite level and the typical characteristic of players at a particular development stage.

Each phase of the framework outlines develop milestones and player characteristics which are critical to the development and growth of an individual to achieve their playing goals.

The framework will be used to help identify the needs of those who participate in lacrosse (player, coach and official), help direct decision making for the betterment of the game for those who play it and help shape new formats or competitions for the sport.

Our Participation Framework is based on "The Foundations, Talent, Elite & Mastery (FTEM) framework" model, which has been endorsed by Sport Australia and widely adopted by other National Sporting Organisations.
