The 4th Eastern States Tournament was held in Sydney on the 17th and 18th October.

Four games were played in Centennial Parklands by NSW and Queensland in brilliant weather conditions. The event was supported by ALA with officials John Sedgeway, Brendan Pinkerton, Jan Jackson and Kris Palmer officiating games and providing rules information to players.  It was a great weekend of lacrosse with NSW Patron Judith Halnan and Life Member Linda Roylance attending the opening day.

The men’s games were very competitive. The first game was won by Queensland 7-6 and the second game won by NSW 9-8 allowing them to retain the Bruce Rosewarne trophy.  Natasha Meyer (Queensland) assisted John and Brendan with officiating.

The women’s games were also very competitive with NSW providing the majority of players supplemented by three Queenslanders including Gary the goalkeeper.  Both games were played in good spirit and Caroline McLuckie (NSW) assisted with umpiring on Saturday and Omar (NSW) assisted on Sunday.

See the NSW Lacrosse website for photos and a full tournament report.
