A message from the ALA President

ALA President, Mike Slattery
ALA President, Mike Slattery

On the eve of the World Lacrosse Championship in Denver Colorado we wish the players, coaches, management and officials representing Australia, our best wishes for what lies ahead over the next ten days.

For the past 2 years this team of people have put in a tremendous effort and sacrifice in preparation for men's lacrosse's greatest show. They all should be proud of this commitment, and their achievements to date and as a lacrosse community, we should be proud of them.

Unfortunately, due to injury, player Tom Freeman has had to withdraw from the team prior to the commencement of the world event. Obviously this is a huge disappointment for Tom and our thoughts are with him and his family. Tom has been replaced in the team by alternate Matt Fuss and we congratulate him and are confident that he will step up to the task ahead of him. I am sure that this situation will only galvanise the team further with its performance at the Championship.

I am confident that this team is extremely well prepared to compete against all teams over the next ten days and will play with the same skill, spirit and passion as teams before them.

As a lacrosse community, we are there to support you all the way.

Good Luck!

Mike Slattery - President ALA
