Australian U23 Coach & Manager Appointments

2015 ASPAC Championship  

ALA is pleased to announce the appointment of all remaining Coach and Manager positions for the Men's and Women's U23 Australian Teams. These teams will compete in a number of tournaments, culminating at the 2015 ASPAC Championship, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, Saturday 4 - Sunday 11 July.

Sachiyo Yamada – U23 Women’s Co-Coach

Sachi served as an Assistant Coach of the 2013 U23 Australian Women’s Team for the Friendship Games in Tokyo and the ASPAC Championship in Beijing. Sachi is an accomplished player of seven SA state teams and seven seasons with Wilderness, including the 2014 Wilderness premiership team as MVP. She has coached Japanese lacrosse camps and Wilderness juniors and aspires to be a high level coach.

Peter Mathwin – U23 Women’s Co-Coach

Peter brings with him many years of coaching experience of both men’s and women’s teams at Chadstone, Brighton and Woodville clubs. While completing several years of women’s senior club teams, he also coached the U15 SA Girls Team in 2009 and the Senior SA Women’s Team in 2010 and 2011.

Steven Fisher – U23 Men’s Assistant Coach

Steven played juniors through to seniors at Woodville SA, followed by a move to Bayswater WA under Head Coach Glenn Morley. With a thorough understanding of Glenn’s philosophies and expectations, Steven is well suited to work with Glenn and the U23 Australian Team. Over the past 2 years, Steven has played at Malvern in Victoria, where he will conduct the state based sessions for U23 players. Steven is enthusiastic about the prospects of the 2015 ASPAC Championship and is keen to work with a talented group of players.

Stephanie Rogers – U23 Men’s Manager

Stephanie has a 30 year background in Travel Management and has been a team manager at the Wanneroo club for several years. She has also been involvement with the travel management of the U15 Northern Warriors team for 4 years as well as a number of other groups and organisations.
