The APLU is delighted to inform its membership that Mr. Bill Hollins has been appointed by the APLU Directors to fill the Casual Vacancy on the Executive Board.

Bill brings many years of lacrosse experience to the Board having served New Zealand Lacrosse since its re-emergence in 2000 (lacrosse was previously played in NZ prior to World War 1). As an active Rugby referee Bill was asked in 2000 to help officiate in New Zealand with the ‘new’ sport and he was sufficiently motivated that he has now attended 3 ASPAC Championships and 3 World Championships as a referee.

Bill also acts as the Treasurer for the National Body, men and women, plus Auckland region Men’s association.

On his appointment Bill stated that he ‘looks forward to assist in making the APLU a strong, relevant association for ASPAC nations, to help grow the sport in the Asia Pacific region, and to also be a major voice within the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL).’

Bill now joins President Mike Slattery, Vice President Yas Hayakawa, Fellow Directors Albert Lai, Won Jae Park and Executive Director Fiona Clark on the APLU Executive Board to assist in the expansion of lacrosse in the Asia Pacific region.
